Full covers for the newest FM titles, just released!

Just a quick teaser to share the full luscious covers of our brand new, just-released Margery Sharp and Stella Gibbons titles. Eleven of them in all, many featuring cover illustrations by the inimitable Leslie Wood. Due to the inexplicable vicissitudes of the publishing world, most of these are being reprinted for the first time since their original publication.

I might also perversely mention that we already have our August 2021 titles confirmed too. Two authors (neither previously published by Furrowed Middlebrow), nine titles in all, all of them among my personal favorites! Stay tuned for that announcement! Meanwhile...

  1. Almost finished with Four Gardens, and loving it. Some delightful covers and interesting sounding books to enjoy as 2021 unfolds. Thank you Scott.

  2. Job done on the cover art because I can so easily picture all of them on my shelves. Finished The Swiss Summer a few days ago and thoroughly enjoyed the alpine adventure!

  3. I love that Eric Ravilious boarding house image for Harlequin House; it made an appearance over at my place last year. Your covers are luscious, indeed!

  4. Just an unrelated comment. I just finished reading Crossed Skis by Carol Carnac (who also published mysteries using the name E.C.R. Lorac, her real last name was Rivett or something like that.) Set and written in 1951 I nominate it for your WWII Fiction list, post-war section. The after effects of WWII are very much a part of this book, rationing, currency regulations, a building not destroyed by bombing, but those around it having been, so a lack of witnesses are just a few of the post war world issues covered. And I found it a fun read also.

  6. I loved The Stone of Chastity and in the last few months am just discovering there is more to Stella Gibbons than Cold Comfort Farm. I have read The Woods in Winter and Starlight. Have you read Starlight? I thought it was a very strange book.

NOTE: The comment function on Blogger is notoriously cranky. If you're having problems, try selecting "Name/URL" or "Anonymous" from the "Comment as" drop-down (be sure to "sign" your comment, though, so I know who dropped by). Some people also find it easier using a browser like Firefox or Chrome instead of Internet Explorer.

But it can still be a pain, and if you can't get any of that to work, please email me at furrowed.middlebrow@gmail.com. I do want to hear from you!
